Lesson No. 4: Focus on Measures of Variation

Presenter: Melvin B. Calixton
Date of Presentation: April 26, 2011

The Range; Average Deviation;Quartile Deviation; The Standard Deviation; The Variance; Coefficient of Variation; and Measures of Variation and Research are the topics for this whole presentation. I would just like to commend sir Melvin for the exciting presentation he prepared for us. Others may have a hard time to follow the transition of the slide but on the contrary to my observation where I find it more interesting especially if you want to get your audience response and attention.

The topics with its crucial and delicate data and computation, made become easier with the use of the multimedia and the Microsoft excel. However, we must not forget that we need to develop first better understanding using the ICT. Though, for the younger ones, who were knowledgeable to computer due to early exposure during high school or college days, this become much easier for them to integrate computer to statistics.

Now, focusing on the lesson alone, thinking what if we do not use ICT for presentation of our report. Can we finish the whole report in due time? (so that all reporters can present before the end of summer). I think-no. Because, of sir Melvin presentation, the whole scope of his topic where done in just two-hour class. Amazing!
